Caterpillar (Qingzhou) Ltd. (CQL), formerly Shandong SEM Machinery Co., Ltd. was founded in 1958 and manufactured SEM branded wheel loaders in China for more than 60 years. In 2008, Shandong SEM Machinery Co., Ltd became a full acquisition of Caterpillar and transitioned to Caterpillar (Qingzhou) Ltd. in 2013.

As a wholly-owned subsidiary of Caterpillar, CQL produces both SEM and Cat® products. As one of the key product brands of Caterpillar, SEM product portfolio includes wheel loaders, soil compactors, motor graders and track type tractor. The products are sold exclusively through Caterpillar dealerships with dedicated or a co-located dealer of Cat internationally, covering more than 90 countries.
